What Is Title X?
Title X (pronounced “Title Ten”) is a federal program that has helped people access affordable family planning and reproductive health services since the 1970s. These services include:
- Birth control (all methods)
- STI testing and treatment
- Wellness exams and cancer screenings
- Pregnancy testing and counseling
- HPV vaccines
Title X is especially important for people who are uninsured or underinsured. For some, it may be their only source of healthcare.
What’s Happening Right Now?
All health centers in Missouri that typically receive Title X funding are experiencing a delay in that support. Despite this, The Right Time health centers are still open and are continuing to provide the full range of sexual and reproductive health services to patients across the state. If you’ve seen headlines or are unsure about whether your local clinic is still seeing patients, the answer is: yes, they are.
What Services Are Available?
The Right Time health centers continue to offer:
- Birth control (including IUDs, implants, pills, and more)
- STI, STD, and pregnancy testing and counseling
- Breast and cervical cancer screenings
- Wellness exams
- HPV vaccines
- Support for intimate partner violence and mental health needs
All services are confidential (private) and available at no cost or low cost, even if you don’t have insurance.
